Oriel Limited was founded in 1993 as a subsidiary of ECTA group of Companies.Oriel originally started selling Bearings, Fan and Timing Belts. Oriel Limited has always believed in offering quality services and original products.

Oriel went on to acquire the agency to sell and distribute Monroe Shock Absorbers thus becoming the sole distributor in Kenya. Monroe is a brand of Tenneco Automotive, the world's leading producer and marketer of ride control and systems. We have a commitment to making driving a safer and more environmentally friendly experience. Monroe has developed models specifically designed and tested for all major automobile manufacturers from passenger cars through light commercial trucks and vans, heavy duty vehicles to high performance off-road vehicles.
In September 1999 Oriel Ltd relocated from Addis Ababa Road to Mombasa Road. This move was made to strategically locate Oriel Limited, also following with Oriel's commitment to quality of service. Oriel Limited then went on to open the Monroe Fitting Centre.
Our Monroe Fitting Centre started on a very small note in year 2000. It started by offering shock absorbers free fitting service with only one mechanic and a few tools. Over the years it has developed to a full fledge fitting centre offering shocks and spring fitting, wheel alignment, wheel balancing and other suspension related jobs.

Yvonne Mehta, Group Chairman
 Upon the untimely passing away of the founder and Chairman, Mr. C. K. Mehta, Mrs. Yvonne Mehta became the Chairman of the Board of Subaru Kenya. She has been a member of the Board for the last three decades and has considerable commercial experience. She is also an active rally enthusiast and has participated in numerous International and World Championship events with considerable success.

Michael Somen, Non-Executive Director
 Mr. Somen has over 40 years experience in commercial law. Mr. Somen is also a non-executive director of several other companies.

Martin John Troughton, ECTA Group CEO
 Mr. Troughton is a qualified engineer, with over 30 years of business experience in very senior positions in companies in both the UK and Kenya. He has been with the group since 2007

Vijay Mehta, Non Executive Director
 Vijay joined the board as a non-executive director in December 2009. Vijay is the Son of the Late C.K. Mehta - the founder of the company.
Vijay, who is 20 years old, is currently undertaking Economics and Business Management studies. At this youthful age, he brings energy, new ideas, practices and concepts, with added age diversity to the board which engages young staff members to create new leaders of tomorrow.
Like his parents, Vijay has a special interest in fast moving vehicles, new car technology, latest innovations and developments.
